Sugar Land has two kinds of houses. The established neighborhoods, First Colony being the biggest, mostly went up from the 1970s through the 1990s. Newer communities like Telfair and Riverstone were built over the last twenty years.

In the established areas we replace aging panels and update outlets and lighting. In the newer ones we install EV chargers, surge protection and the lighting upgrades the builder skipped.

Sugar Land is a short run down Highway 6 or I-69 from West Houston.

The houses in Sugar Land

Many First Colony homes are now thirty to fifty years old and still have the original panel. Newer homes in Telfair and Riverstone have plenty of capacity on paper, but a second AC unit, a pool and an EV can still fill the panel.

What we keep an eye on here

Fort Bend County gets the same Gulf storms and summer lightning as Houston. Surge protection at the panel and a generator inlet are the two things we suggest most often to Sugar Land homeowners.

Permits in Sugar Land

Sugar Land issues its own permits for electrical work inside city limits. We pull them under our license, and we also work in the unincorporated Fort Bend areas around the city.

What we do in Sugar Land

  • Breaker panels and service upgrades. New and replacement breaker panels, sub panels, disconnects and grounding, plus a look at the old Federal Pacific panels that still turn up in Houston homes.
  • EV and Tesla charger installation. Tesla Wall Connectors, Level 2 chargers and 240 volt outlets on their own dedicated circuit, with the panel checked first.
  • Whole-house surge protection. A surge protector at the panel that guards everything in the house, including hardwired equipment that a plug-in strip can't protect.

Sugar Land questions.

What people in Sugar Land ask us most.

Or call (832) 464-4258

Yes. For permitted electrical work inside Sugar Land city limits, we pull the permit under our license, TECL 38209, and handle the inspection.

If it is thirty years old or more, trips often, runs warm, or is a Federal Pacific panel, it is worth having us look. Sometimes a few breakers fix the problem, and sometimes the panel is due. We will tell you which.
